AS SOON AS YOU GET YOUR BALLOT

Did you get your ballot in the mail regarding Measure C?  It is a NEW more expensive TAX for a longer period of time that will force you to pay $1,600 over 5 years + an automatic yearly increase based on the CPI (Consumer Price Index).

This new parcel tax may not be deductible from your Federal and California income taxes. If it passes you will have to pay taxes on these taxes. Read More ....

As soon as you get you ballot, fill it out and send it in with a big NO on MEASURE C, Enough is enough.  NO on the NEW NORE EXPENSIVE TAX.  NO all-mailed ballot unfair elections. Read below the reasons why you should vote NO on C.

WHY VOTE NO ON MEASURE C

MEASURE C IS A NEW MORE EXPENSIVE TAX . Measure C is not a renewal, it is a NEW MORE EXPENSIVE TAX. Renewal of measures Q and W would mean you would pay $1,280 ($320 per year) over (4) years, but Measure C  is more expensive.  It costs $1,600 + an automatic increase based on the (Consumer Price Index) and lasts for (5) years!. Obviously, a “New More Expensive Tax“.  With the automatic increase per year, you will not even know the amount you will pay until you get your tax bill.  VOTE NO ON MEASURE C, the NEW more expensive TAX.

IF MEASURE C PASSES, PARCEL TAXES WILL CONTINUE SKYROCKETING The school board is out of control, they hit us with Measure A last May which raised the taxes by 62% to $520 per year.  Now, they hit us with Measure C. Take a look at your tax bill, (9) parcel taxes have been placed on your bill already, (5) of those relate to the School Board plus other local agencies, resulting in an additional average property tax of $1,188 per parcel per year. A “tax to the max” burden on property owners VOTE NO ON MEASURE C

THESE PARCEL TAXES BECOME PERMANENT TAXES. The School Board has never discontinued these measures. Every measure since the 80”s has increased the tax from $45 per year initially to $200 by Measure Q (2007). In addition $120 more by Measure W (2008) plus $200 more by Measure A (2011).This skyrocketing spiral will continue if Measure C passes and becomes a permanent tax.

EMPTY ARGUMENTS. The arguments in favor of C are a list of all normal things the School Board is supposed to and expected to be doing with 61 million dollars we, the taxpayers, pay them for the education of our children, nothing special.

DAVIS SCHOOLS SCORES ARE DECREASING. Are Davis public schools the best in the area? This is a myth.  Please take a look at the statistics published by the California Department of Education. Look it up yourself, get on Google and type “Ranking Davis Schools Sac Bee”  or enter  http://tinyurl.com/72c4ezj     Davis schools did not even place within the first 15 in the Sacramento area.  Scores for students in Davis schools are going down.  How is the School Board asking for more money when the product they deliver is diminishing in quality?

SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS A MAJOR PROBLEM The Superintendent and his three Assistant Superintendents make $654,833 together.  When four people make the equivalent of 15 teachers at an average salary of $63,000 per teacher, something is wrong with this picture. Yet you are being asked to pay a more expensive tax to maintain this burocracy?. School administrators are making more money that people graduating with PhD's. Pick up your ballot and VOTE NO ON MEASURE C right now before it is too late.

Superintendent: Winfried Robertson. Salary:      $ 189,904.00
Associate Superintendent: Bruce Colby Salary:  $ 194,326.00
Associate Superintendent: Clark Bryant Salary:  $ 145,779.00
Assistant Superintendent: Matt Best Salary:        $ 124,824.00
TOTAL SUPERINTENDENT SALARIES             $ 654,833.00

Average Elementary School Principal Salary    $ 100,355.00
Average Middle School Principal Salary            $ 106,819.00
Average High School Principal Salary               $ 113,477.00 .

IT IS COMPLETELY UNFAIR. The School Board is using Senior Citizens unethically regarding Measure C.  They will exempt seniors from paying the NEW more expensive Tax but want senior voters to help pass the measure, forcing the rest of homeowners to pay.  Either no one should be exempt or those who choose the exemption should abstain from voting or VOTE NO ON MEASURE C to avoid passing the buck to other homeowners.

IF YOU LIVE ON AN APARTMENT.   If Measure C passes and you live in an apartment, the property owner will pass the bill to you and your rent will go up.

YOUR ARE PAYING DOUBLE. Besides the NEW TAX, the School Board is making you pay $90,000 for this special election.     They could have had this election in June and pay $40,000.  What a waste of money.

FORCED TUITION IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS. “Public education is not free”, said Ms. Sheila Allen, Trustee of the School Board (11/17/2011). If that is the case, those parents with children in public schools should be paying this “forced tuition in public schools” not impose it on all homeowners.  If Measure C passes and you live in an apartment, the property owner will pass the bill to you and your rent will go up.

SCHOOL BOARD TO RUN A CAMPAIGN OF DECEPTION. The School Board will hold the teacher’s jobs hostage and threaten to dismantle programs if you do not agree to pass the new tax.  It is time to say NO to “scare tactics” and intimidation.  Voting NO on C will send a message to balance the budget and operate efficiently. Nowadays, people are losing their jobs and their homes and cannot afford new taxes.

YOUR VOTE WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE. Others feel like you. 5,403 Davis residents voted against Measure A last year. For every NO vote the proponents need TWO to pass Measure C. Your NO vote will have an impact. Please do the same now.  Inform a friend and neighbor and ask them to vote NO on C. Send a powerful message by voting NO on C.

WHY SHOULD YOU VOTE NO ON C AND SEND A MESAGE TO REJECT THE ALL MAILED BALLOT PROCESS OF MEASURE C?
